Font is Hofstra's art and literature magazine.
The Font office is located in Room 201A of the Student Center.
You can contact Font via e-mail at font_art_lit@hotmail.com

I almost never walked through the door of the Font office. It was my first week at Hofstra, and I found myself in the hall debating whether I should join the arts and literature magazine; and I was definitely more against it. I can’t say what made me walk in, but I am glad I did. Who knew by my junior year I would be Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of the magazine? I first became production manager and progressed from there.
This is my third semester as EIC, and I believe last year was a very successful one for Font. We have about 30 members (more than the past two years), we've co-sponsored a painting workshop during Alcohol and Domestic Violence Awareness Week, we've finally created a website, and we are in the process of organizing our bi-annual coffeehouse/open mic, which will also be an art show and charity event for Genocide Awareness sponsored by Student Activities. We are also striving for a great magazine this semester and perfecting a professional layout for it.
I am very excited about the progress we have made, and I only see good things to come from Font. I hope that you have enjoyed our magazine, and that you will partake in the events we have scheduled throughout the year. We encourage all undergraduate students to submit their poetry, prose, and/or artwork. If you are interested, please don’t hesitate to submit your work. You never know - you could be published

Ashley Gray

MANAGING EDITOR - Alex Steinberg

Alexandra is a senior here at Hofstra and hails from Bethpage NY. She is currently studying English (American Lit) and Secondary Education, and is an aspiring high school teacher. Besides working with Font as Managing Editor, she is also a member of the Hofstra Women's Soccer team, and a peer teacher for freshman English here at the University. Her passion lies not only in literature but also in art, making Font the perfect place for her.

PRODUCTION MANAGER & WEBMASTER - Greg Cohen

Greg is a senior at Hofstra. He is an English/Creative Writing Major. What does he want to be when he grows up? Well, he at least wants to move beyond writing in 3rd person on the font website. Aside from that, he does not know. He currently enjoys writing plays and short fiction. Maybe that will take him somewhere someday - or maybe he'll end up living in a box.

BUSINESS MANAGER - Shereen Al-Jaff

Shereen enjoys grapes, french things, and dancing with her fingers. She also likes to give flirty eyes to street-artists instead of her loose change. Shereen refuses to cease Wii Tennis until she is victorious.

ART MANAGER - Ale Perez

Ale is in charge of the art submissions for Font. She's kind of a senior double majoring in Political Science and Mass Media. Ale is also a staff writer for The Chronicle. She's from Peru, and after she graduates from Hofstra, she wants to go on to work for an international organization or go to grad school.
